Power Grids: Call for Participants

These workshops will use comics co-creation to explore and communicate the lived experience of community energy projects.

Do you have experience of community energy? Do you know someone who does? We are looking for people with diverse relationships to different kinds of community energy projects, from technical and administrative expertise to everyday usage.

The workshops will provide an opportunity to discuss experiences and frustrations, share challenges and successes, and learn from others working in the sector. Together, we will write, draw, and map these lived experiences of green energy and to visualise them in artworks that participants can take home with them. No prior art experience is needed.

There are two workshops that people can attend for either full or half days.

Workshop 1: Friday 9 May, City St George’s, University of London
Workshop 2: Saturday 10 May, Hulme Garden Centre, Manchester

We will cover all travel expenses and any necessary accommodation costs for participants coming from outside of Manchester or London. We will also provide refreshments and art materials. The deadline to register interest is 18 April 2025.

The sign-up form is available here and via the QR code on the poster above. Please don’t hestitate to contact Dom at dominic.davies@city.ac.uk if you have questions or would like further details before signing up.
